X is making cryptocurrency and stock market data more visible inside its platform through the expanded rollout of Cashtags, a feature that connects financial asset symbols with live price charts, market data and related posts.
With the update, users can tap on symbols such as $BTC, $ETH, $XRP, $DOGE, $TSLA and $AAPL to access dedicated pages showing the relevant asset’s price movements and posts discussing that asset. The feature is designed to let users follow market conversations and price activity without leaving X.
The rollout marks another step in X’s effort to strengthen its role in financial discussions, especially around cryptocurrencies, which already have a large and active community on the platform.
How The Cashtags Feature Works
Cashtags are financial asset symbols written with a dollar sign on X. When a user writes or searches for a symbol such as $BTC or $TSLA, the platform can connect that tag to market data for the related asset.
Under the updated system, these tags do more than organize posts. When users tap on a supported cashtag, they are taken to a page where they can see a live price chart, current market movement and posts from other users discussing the same asset.
This gives users a more complete view of market activity. Instead of switching between a social media app and a separate price-tracking platform, they can view both the market chart and the public conversation in one place.
The feature is particularly relevant for crypto users, as X has long been one of the main platforms for cryptocurrency news, market commentary, project updates and investor discussion.
Global Access Has Expanded On iOS
The feature was first introduced for iPhone users in the United States and Canada. That initial launch focused on bringing real-time financial charts and related posts into the X app for users in those two markets.
However, the feature is no longer limited to the original launch regions. X Product Manager Nikita Bier later said that Cashtags had become available globally on iOS. This means iPhone users in different markets, including regions outside North America, can now see supported crypto and stock charts inside the app.
This wider rollout explains why more users in different countries have recently started seeing crypto charts on X. The feature may not appear in the same way for every user at the same time, but the iOS expansion shows that Cashtags have moved beyond the initial U.S. and Canada launch.
X.com Also Supports Cashtags
X has also brought the feature to its web platform. With support on X.com, users can access Cashtags and market charts through a desktop browser as well as the iOS app.
This is an important part of the wider rollout because it makes the feature available beyond mobile use. Users who follow crypto or stock market discussions on a computer can now view related charts and posts directly on the web version of X.
The addition of web support also shows that Cashtags are becoming a broader part of X’s financial content experience, rather than a limited mobile-only feature.
Android Rollout Remains Gradual
While iOS and web access have expanded, the situation on Android appears less clearly defined. X has indicated that wider platform support is part of the plan, but there has not been the same level of clear confirmation for a full global Android rollout.
For that reason, the most accurate description is that Cashtags are now available globally on iOS and supported on X.com, while Android access appears to be expanding more gradually.
This distinction is important because some users may see the feature while others may not, depending on their device, region and app version.
Crypto And Stock Data In One Place
Cashtags do not apply only to cryptocurrencies. The feature also supports stock market symbols, allowing users to view data for companies such as Apple and Tesla through tags like $AAPL and $TSLA.
On the cryptocurrency side, supported assets include major coins and tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin. In some cases, the system can also recognize supported crypto contract addresses, helping users reach asset-specific information more directly.
By combining price charts, market data and social discussion, X is creating a single space where users can follow both the numbers and the conversation around financial assets.
What The Update Means For Users
The expanded Cashtags rollout gives X users faster access to market information. A user reading a post about Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP or a major stock can now tap the related symbol and immediately see the price chart and related discussion.
This does not mean X has become a cryptocurrency exchange or brokerage platform. The current feature is mainly focused on displaying market data, organizing posts and helping users follow financial conversations more easily.
Still, the update strengthens X’s position as a platform where financial trends are discussed in real time. For crypto users in particular, the ability to view live charts and community reactions in the same place could make X an even more central part of daily market tracking.
